I was thinking that, since we have the throwback logos, why don't we have the throwback divisions. Here is what it would look like if we played in 1972:
AFC
East: Boston, NY Jets, Miami, Buffalo (in the 72 rankings Baltimore Colts were in that division
as it had 5 teams in it at the time)
Central: Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Houston (Oilers) (Ravens weren't around yet)
West: Oakland, Kansas City, Denver, San Diego (Chargers)
North: (Teams added later) Tennessee, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Jacksonville
NFC
East: Dallas, Washington, NY Giants, St. Louis (Cardinals)
Central: Green Bay, Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota
West: LA Rams, New Orleans, Atlanta, San Francisco
North: (Teams added later) Carolina, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Seattle
This would definitely be a unique feature to our league and allow the old rivalries be in effect and new rivalries exist in the North Divisions.
I would like the owners to vote on this. If enough voters want the throwback divisions, to go along with the throwback logos, I have time to change it before draft day. This should not effect the draft order in any way.
Yay or Nay???? Let me know by Friday, Jan 16th, by 5 pm.
Thanks all!!!
