Do you think this could work? Has it ever been tried before? I understand the season ending work, by me, that will be needed to keep it going. No problem there.

Here's my idea:

You can add more seats by:

1: becoming a Wild Card team 2 seats
or
2. being a Division winner 3 seats
3 Earning 1st week bye 5 seats
2. Being in the Conference Championship Game 10 seats
3. Winning the Super Bowl 22 seats

The maximum seats a team can gain each year is 40 seats for that team in that league.
Obviously, there are some owners who will have the advantage from the beginning because of their experience. So this may not work.

If you really want to make a go of this, you need to make the number of seats larger. A larger stadium gives you a slight advantage in terms of cash flow -- but you still need to fill the larger stadium! Maybe a way you could make this work by multiplying the extra seats by 100, but then having the extra seats expire if or when a team falls back into mediocrity. This was done in the old Star Wars league, and in the old Arena league, where everybody started with 20,000 seats. Basically the seats aren't a big deal. They only give you a slight edge when you are chasing coaches.

Also, historically, there were big discrepancies in stadium sizes. The old LA Coliseum was a lot bigger than the old Astrodome. Basically, it's not a big deal. Just roll with what is historically true.

The LA Memorial Coliseum was used for a few Olympics and holds over 100,000 people!!! That's where my team is playing. I originally was going to use that seating capacity, for my team, but I thought it was unfair. Thus, I changed all the stadium's seating capacity to be same with the idea of owners adding seating later.
