In a preseason Week 2 matchup, the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 24-9 on the road. Under the guidance of head coach Joseph Roland, the Ravens showcased a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive effort to secure the convincing win.
The Eagles struck first with a 32-yard field goal by Harvey Campa early in the opening quarter, taking a 3-0 lead. However, Baltimore responded swiftly. Running back David Thompson scored on a short run to put the visitors ahead 6-3, followed by a successful extra point from Ryan McSweeney to make it 7-3.
The Ravens built on that momentum in the second quarter. Quarterback Sam Daniels connected with wide receiver Conrad Oxendine for a 17-yard passing touchdown. McSweeney's extra point extended the lead to 14-3. Philadelphia cut the deficit with another field goal late in the quarter, but Baltimore answered with another touchdown, this time on a 1-yard pass from Daniels to tight end Anibal Thompson, pushing the score to 21-6 at halftime.
Baltimore's ground game was a significant factor throughout the contest. The Ravens rushed 24 times for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Jose McKinley led the team on the ground with 83 yards, while David Thompson contributed 43 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown. Meanwhile, Daniels completed 19 of 34 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.
Wide receiver John Condon was the top receiver for Baltimore, hauling in 123 yards. Despite some minor setbacks with turnovers—most notably a fumble by McKinley—the Ravens' defense forced multiple turnovers. Michael Adams forced a fumble for Baltimore, and the defense recorded four sacks during the game. The Eagles struggled to capitalize on opportunities, scoring solely through field goals in this contest.
For Philadelphia, quarterback Thomas Fontaine completed 16 of 19 passes for 146 yards but failed to reach the end zone, throwing one interception. The Eagles combined for 67 rushing yards on 37 carries but were unable to find the end zone. Defensively, strong safety Nathan Duggan forced a fumble but the unit allowed two rushing touchdowns and gave up significant passing yards.
Penalties were relatively even, with both teams committing six penalties for 40 yards apiece. Neither team converted any third downs, and red zone efficiency was limited in this preseason outing.
Coach Joseph Roland will likely view this game as a positive step in sharpening his team's offense and defensive front, while the Eagles will look to improve their red zone production as the preseason continues.
Baltimore secured a 24-9 victory to improve their preseason record and build confidence heading further into the 2027 season.
