League admins cannot override the block.

It's built into the game engine.

You'll need to wait and be patient.

I, for one, cannot wait until you can trade :)

I thought it was 30 days after joining the game. I have traded in leagues I just joined after playing the game a while. It may have changed to prevent idiots joining just to screw up a team and leave.

There are a few thing's I'd change to the trade section about PMing the admin saying they are ok with it.

1: I might make a mid-season trade later on will probably forget to PM you as it's not really something that other leagues do so it's not a built in habit.
2: One person has to send the offer which they like and the other has to accept it. So both parties clearly feel good about it.

Now to play devil's advocate if one side look's like they are getting fleeced it could just be that they value things different than the other person. For example I don't really go off the trade value for players (I think we can all agree a 50 speed WR/RB is not a 600+ value player), I especially think draft picks should have higher trade value for certain rounds. One of the main reason's why there aren't a ton of trades is because one person is always trying to get a "steal/fleece" when the other side would never accept that offer because they also want something in their favor. So finding the balance of "fair" for two sides can be pretty subjective between different people.

BUT there can be times like recently where it might just be inexperience and not knowing the true value of certain things. And the other side will simply take advantage of it because it makes them better. So unless you nip it at the beggining with the first trade and everyone accepts to undo it, but even then it would be unfair to the other person who accepted it as it wasn't their fault. I hadn't checked the forums for when the discussion had happened, but for example when the JAX/SEA trade that was undone. Do I think it was a heavily lopsided trade. Yes, I think most would agree on that. But SEA had made plenty of trades before that which were one sided as well to different teams which were not undone. And it would be unfair to the him if the other trades weren't undone. So at that point I think you have to let the person live with their mistakes (Like not being able to suddenly switch teams within the league after trading all of their high value picks/players, and be aware that trading away even more future picks will prolong them staying with that team.) And from there you can only offer your advice and it's up to them to either take it or leave it.

I concur with your idea and that's how I've been handling trades since the earlier trade debacle which I caused. I just haven't changed it yet. Great post! Thanks!

The problem with that view is that it focuses on one party only and not the overall effect.

In a league I now admin, there was an owner who only cared about trading, not gameplanning. Flips players. picks regularly, endless trades.

People rightly got irritated because the end effect was them ending up with a massive amount of draft picks, especially rounds 1-3.

When he left, the net effect was that team faced cap disaster a few years down the line, stacked with talent and endless draft picks. Any noob taking that team over would've been a disaster, hence an experienced owner picked them up.

Bugs from day one has only wanted to trade, ranting in leagues when unable to do so. He spams trades - I had to block him after 29 trade offers. Despite it being explained you can only be in one league when on the free tier, he's still applying - and league hops on a regular basis.

Maybe Kosmic should've acted sooner BUT the pattern of behaviour has been established. I hope Bugs decides to play and enjoy the game a bit more, but there's only so much good faith you can give out.

If everyone would realize what's going on and just reject any offer sent from a player spam trading. The situation would resolve itself.

Agreed, but when you've 29 offers sent and either withdrawn or manually having to reject...

The alternative is that I think if you ignore/block a player - the nuclear option - they can't offer you a trade.
