Bad game by the refs though. Those street tacos they ate before the game hit em at a critical time in the game. Jags lined up for a go ahead fg late in the 4th qtr from 54 yds out. Right before the snap all of the refs were seen headed for the porta potties holding their buttocks and sweating profusely! Kick was up...... hit the upright... did it go in? Out? I blew up the screen as big as I could to make sure it wasn't short, and it dang sure wasn't. So while the refs were all makin a doodie,the call was made by the mayor of KC... no good!

I hate losing, I hate referees even more!

Tom Dempsey, 1970, Saints vs Lions, Saints won 19-17 on that kick, also remember hearing Alex Karass, DT HOFer for the Lions talk about the kick on a talk show, maybe with Carson. Was funny. That kick held up for 43 years, till December, 2013 when Matt Prater of the Broncos kicked a 64 yarder in Mile High Stadium.

Edit: I was right!! ...... google search - "Alex Karras notably discussed Tom Dempsey’s historic 63-yard field goal on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When Carson asked why the Detroit Lions didn't attempt to block the record-breaking kick, Karras famously replied that they were "too busy laughing at the very idea of a 63-yard field goal" It still amazes me how fast AI is on finding any information and what it can now do, unreal.
